Final Fantasy World -- Final Fantasy VII 7 -- Materia -- Materia Combinations | ||||||||||
Combinations There are many different types of Materia combinations, from being able to cause damage to all enemies, to protecting your party from certain elements or statuses. Materia combinations only work if you have the two specified Materia inserted into linked slots on a character's weapon or armor, otherwise the Materia effects won't be combined. Below is a list of lots of great Materia combinations for you to try out. Easy Combinations Restore + All Good for healing HP for all party members, instead of having to heal seperately, however it only heals 1/3 of the normal amount. Fire, Ice, Lightning, Poison, Demi etc.. + All Deals damage to all enemies, however it only damages 1/3 of the normal amount. Fire, Ice, Lightning, Earth etc + Elemental (Weapon) Does elemental damage to an enemy. Fire, Ice, Lightning, Earth etc + Elemental (Armour) Protects from equipped element. Added Effect + Poison (Weapon) Very good combo for dealing damage and continuing to do so if opponent is successfully poisoned. Added Effect + Time (Weapon) May slow or stop an opponent in one hit. All + Steal Good for stealing from a number of enemies in one go! Average Combinations Counter + Mime Although what you counter with is unpredictable, it can be quite powerful. Double Cut + Slash-All Very powerful as it can strike every enemy on the field 2 or 4 (if Double Cut is level 2+) times! Sneak Attack + Knights of the Round (Or any powerful Magic or Summon materia) Before anyone has a turn, there is a good chance you can summon KotR to knock out any enemy from the battle. Quadra Magic + Any Magic or Summon Materia This allows you to do four consecutive summon spells, without a loss of MP! Unfortunately it doesn't work with Knights of the Round. Final Attack + Revive A very important combo to automatically revive a character as soon as he/she is KO'd. Final Attack + Phoenix Summon Similar to the above combo, but this time all party members are revived! Phoenix even attacks the enemy! Added Effect + Contain (Weapon) May cause petrify, confusion, berserk and paralyse status ailments with every attack. Added Effect + Contain (Armour) Protects from petrify, confusion, berserk and paralyse status ailments. Added Effect + Mystify (Weapon) Protects from berserk and confusion. Added Effect + Destruct (Weapon) May cause death when you attack an enemy. Added Effect + Destruct (Armour) Protects from death. Added Effect + Steal Surprisingly this causes silence or sleep on an enemy. Can also protect from silence or sleep when equipped to your Armour. Counter + Deathblow A deadly counter attack, yet, due to Deathblow's unpredictability, it may miss. MP Turbo + Any powerful Magic or Summon Great for causing major damage, but watch that MP gauge! Final Attack + Summon Materia Although you could put a powerful summon or KotR as your final attack, Phoenix is still the best combo. HP or MP Absorb + Any Magic or Summon Materia Very good if you are low on HP/MP and need a boost. (Works very well with KotR.) Difficult Combinations W-Magic + Master Magic Casts every magic twice! W-Summon + Knights of the Round A very good way to summon KotR twice! (To do more damage have the next character use Mime to deal 4x as much damage as usual) Mega-All + Master Magic This is probably one of the most powerful combos you could ever have! It uses every single Magic Materia at once, to all enemies! What more could you ask for? Quadra Magic + Master Summon Ok, nothing could survive every summon cast four times! W-Summon (Mastered) - Knights of the Round + MP Turbo (Mastered) Use the W-Summon to cast Knights of the Round twice and due to the MP Turbo, this will cause heaps of damage! Then for a follow up, have the next character use Mime. Now that I've covered a load of Materia Combos, here's a recommended equipped Materia list. Recommended Materia First Character (Offensive) HP Plus or MP Plus (to fill up any left over slots) Mega All Cure3 (just in case) W-Summon MP Turbo + Knights of the Round Quadra Magic + Master Summon Master Magic + HP or MP Absorb Second Character (Offensive/Curative) HP Plus or MP Plus (to fill up any left over slots) Cure3 + All Mime Final Attack + Phoenix W-Magic Ultima + MP Turbo (And anything else you might want) Third Character (Curative) HP or MP Plus (to fill up any left over slots) Cure3 (Mastered) + All (Mastered) Mime (only use if no one needs curing) Enemy Skill (with curative skills learnt like 'Big Guard') (And anything else you might want) An excellent Materia combination to beat nearly every boss, even one of The Weapons! But I'm not going to guarantee that! |
