A warrior takes sword in hand,
Clasping a gem to his heart.
Engraving vanishing memories into the sword,
He places finely honed skills into the stone.
Spoken from the sword, handed down from the stone...
Now the story can be told...
That is the story of a world called Ivalice.
The strong military kingdom known as the Arcadia Empire
That rules the Valentia Continent,
And the Rosalia Empire that rules the Ordalia Continent
Have been continuously at war for long years.
In the midst of it, Arcadia Empire invaded the small kingdom of Dalmasca,
Positioned in the hallway between the two continents and thus is geopolitically
important.
Under the invasion of the Arcadia Empire, the Dalmasca Kingdom accepted
defeat.
But Ashe, the rightful heir to the trone of Dalmasca,
Joined the resistance army movements to fight against the empire.
The enemy's chase and attack of this girl with the liberation of her
mother nation in heart is severe,
But, she can not be defeated.
At this moment, she meets the young man Vaan.
With this meeting, begins the change in Ashe's heart.
And thus...
The meeting of these two people will greatly change the story of this
world.
FFXII is set in a world called Ivalice, (the same world from FFTactics)
torn apart by two warring kingdoms, Rozarria and Archadia. The story opens
on a celebration, a wedding between Lady Ashelia, the young princess and
sole heir to the throne, and Lord Rasler, the prince of Nabradia. This
takes place in the Royal City of Rabanastre, Dalmasca, a realm that resides
in the centre of the chaos between Rozarria and Archadia.
Unfortunately soon after, Lord Rasler takes his place in Dalmasca's army
to fight against the invading Archadian Empire and is killed in action.
The widowed Ashelia mourns his passing, unaware of the fast approaching
turmoil that will follow.
Then a young soldier, Reks, and his commanding general, the legendary
Sir Basch fon Ronsenburg are fighting their way through the Royal Palace
to warn King Raminas of an assassination attempt in the guise of a peace
treaty signing. During this time you are given control of Reks.
Sadly, when Reks arrives, the king has been murdered along with many knights,
but much to his horror, it is the once loyal Sir Basch who killed the
men. Basch then ends the life of Reks before being arrested for high treason.
The empire of Dalmasca has now fallen to that of Archadia, Lady Ashelia
is said to have commited suicide from the grief of her husband and father's
deaths and the people of Rabanastre have given up hope... Except for one
young man. Two years later, Vaan, the infamous thief of the city streets,
is defiant against the new consul, Vayne Solidor of Archadia. He wants
to bring back the old Rabanastre almost as much as he wants to fly an
airship.
With the help of Penelo, Balthier, Fran, Basch and Ashe, Vaan attempts
to restore Dalmasca to its former glory.
Challenge an Empire...
Liberate a Nation...
Change the World...
