Final Fantasy World's History
|
Final Fantasy World actually started around 2003, with
a rather bad layout and some simple FFVII content. The Webmistress
was my sister, Deep, who was known as Kairi, Ukiya (Yukiya) or Dizzy
back then. I was just the content writer.
FFW was inspired after many months of playing FFVII and researching
information on the internet and finding a whole network of Final Fantasy
sites. It was also inspired by The
Round Island, which was/is an absolutely superb site, and I am
honoured to be one of their current affiliates. Eventually FFW fell
apart when Deep made her Beyblade Website. FFW was left alone for
a few years, but my interest in the Final Fantasy series kept growing
as I played FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, Kingdom Hearts and watched Final
Fantasy: The Spirit Within.

March - August 2005
|
Then one day me and my sister started talking about
remaking that old FFW website, with me as the Webmistress. So around
March 2005 I made my first layout and it wasn't half bad! Simple grey
and white colours with pictures from the FF Series worked very well.
Deep spliced and coded the layout and uploaded the first few pages
for me.
Meanwhile I had been writing FFVII content for the past few months
and finally got the information on the internet for the first time!
While FFW began to develop, Deep began to lose interest in Beyblade
and set up a new site about Kingdom Hearts (Kingdom
Hearts Extreme). |

August - December 2005
|
After the FFVII section for FFW was almost
completed, me and Deep decided to open FFW and KHE to the public.
It was a great feeling to see something you had created available
for everyone. FFW started very small, with very few visitors. I joined
several Topsites and added more pages. Slowly FFW became more popular,
I sent an affiliation request and got my first affiliate, FFReign!
Meanwhile KHE was simply flourishing, already with several affiliates
and staff members!
|
In the following months, FFW joined many more topsites
and gained several affiliates, everything was running smoothy. Then
I went away for a week at a Do It 4 Real summer camp in August, when
I came back everything was still great, I had two more affiliates
and I felt inspired. One of the following weekends I made a new layout,
I worked very hard on it. It had a blue and yellow colour scheme,
the colours inspired from a water slide at a theme park, chosen very
carefully so that they matched perfectly. After the layout was finished,
many hours were put into splicing it, as it was my first time splicing,
I made a right mess of it all. I asked Deep to do it, but she was
far to busy with KHE which was at least four times as popular as FFW
at the time.
Finally, on Monday night, my Dad completed the layout and I had it
up and running on Tuesday with Google AdSense, a Poll, an Advertising
Banner System and a Shoutbox! I was amazed that it was finished at
all! It looked pretty good as well! ^_^ |
So with FFWORLD V.2 uploaded, I started working on content
again. I must've spent a whole day working on FFVIII Items! My graphics
were improving as well, with new Avatars, Banners, Wallpapers and
even Winamp Skins! FFW was getting an average of 140 hits and 58 unique
visitors a day! Then on the 2nd of October 2005, FFW got a total of
10,000 hits!
Then I got a helping hand from Alpha-Omega who did the story of FFIX,
(my knowledge of FFIX is extremely limited) with more information
on it's way.
During December 2005 I thought FFW could do with a change of scenery,
so I got to work on FFW V.3. |

December 05 - May 2006
|
It didn't take long to create, and I was
very pleased with the result.
However during the slicing and coding process, I hit lots of problems.
The layout was put on hold for weeks, and I had several friends try
to fix it to no avail. The coding I was trying to use didn't seem
compatable, which is just ridiculous.
Eventually I dropped the new code and uploaded it using the coding
I had all along. January 2006, the new layout was up, and everything
was working. I had a few more attempts at using the new code, but
it still didn't work, so I stuck with what I had.
During March 2006, FFW released it's Merchandise Survey for the visitors
to fill in. It was basically a form of which the results would help
us to see if there was a demand for Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts
costumes. Results of that survey have been positive and FFW is currently
looking for a costume source and progress is looking good. We hope
to have authentic quality costumes in our Online Shop by October 2006.
Because of the news of possible Final Fantasy costumes, traffic went
through the roof, and FFW got an all time record of 1,300 Unique Visitors
in one day, and all time Pageviews finally hit 100,000! |

May 2006 - ???
|
After the boost of traffic from the Merchandise Survey,
FFW was experiencing difficulties with the Server we were on and we
decided to switch to a new, more reliable server.
The transfer took longer than expected, and the size of the files
was too much for the new server, so lots of changes had to be made.
Lots of files were optimised, and sub folders were ditched. Sadly
there was no space for BBRealm, Deep's Beyblade fansite, so it had
to be unexpectedly closed. |
While switching servers, Deep decided to get KHExtreme,
FFW's sister site, it's own URL to free up some space and increase
Search Engine rankings. KHE's also released V.2.5, an upgrade to it's
old layout.
After the switch and a ten day holiday, I thought once again that
FFW needed a change of scenery. FFW V.3 was getting old, the graphics
seemed rusty and it's compatability was interferring.
And so FFW Version 4 was created, and this time the coding worked!
Everything fit together nicely, and I even added some new features,
like rollovers and sliced loading times in half! (Hopefully more though!)
Released just after Final Fantasy XIII was released, it was great
timing.
FFW also hired some more staff members, Koji, Chewy and Mevan have
been helping out immensely.
And so FFW has become so much more popular, my lists of Topsites and
Affiliates kept doubling, (though sometimes dividing) themselves and
the amount of content and media keep growing, and I find myself up
to date.
FFW will hopefully keep growing until all our content is completed
and will be available for viewing until Square-Enix stops making games!
^_~
As a last note, FFW is still looking for content writers, who have
excellent spelling/grammar and knowledge of FF games, who can submit
content for early Final Fantasy games, (I through to VI) check out
the Apply for Staff page for more details, thanks.
Written by FFW's hard working Webmistress, FFFreak. ^.^ |

entertainment!
Name - FFFreak
Age - 19
Staff Position - Webmistress, Journalist, Graphics Designer and
Content Writer.
Skills - Webdesign, writing Content, drawing or painting art, designing
Graphics and making Winamp Skins.
Favourite Website - Apart from my own, probably FF
Shrine, FFInsider,
FFNet, Eternal
Legend and any site with exceptional content and media. Non-FF would
be Google, Youtube and Wikipedia.
Favourite Square-Enix Game - FFVII, FFIX and FFX.
Favourite Square-Enix Game FMV/Scene - FFX - The ending, FFIX -
The ending, FFVIII - Reunion.
Hobbies - I enjoy Tennis, Drawing and Painting, designing graphics
on Photoshop (Banners, Winamp Skins etc..), listening to music (ELO, Peter Gabriel and Creed being some of my favourites!), watching Movies
and being with my friends.
Biography - I have had an interest in the Final Fantasy series
since I was 11. The first game I played was FFVII, which I had borrowed
from a friend and I absolutely loved it. Me and Deep would spend hours
playing it. I quickly became quite skilled at the game and finally completed
it a few months after buying my own copy. While browsing for FFVII information
I came across a huge network of Final Fantasy websites and immediately
wanted to make my own. I didn't know anything about webdesign however
so nothing happened. During this time I also found out about the many
other Final Fantasy's I was missing out on.
So I bought FFVIII soon after, the graphics were an excellent improvement
since FFVII and I enjoyed it very much. I still haven't been able to complete
it however, but I'll manage it sometime. I then went on to play FFIX and
FFX both of which, (FFIX in particular) were absolutely fantastic. Then
FFX-2 came along and it was a big disappointment at the time but has since grown to become a favourite.
I've also played Kingdom Hearts and watched Final Fantasy: The Spirit
Within and FFVII: Advent Children.
I soon found the wonderful world of Anime after watching Princess Mononoké
at a friend's house and I've seen nearly every Studio Ghibli animation
and plenty of anime series such as Neon Genesis Evangelion and Naruto.
And finally, back in 2004, me and my sister, Deep decided to give making
a Final Fantasy website a shot. It was simply called Final Fantasy World
and had a really bad layout, we didn't know any better. I wrote a lot
of FFVII content for it's release, including a walkthrough, but the site
fell through and we put it aside for a while.
But eventually in March 2005, I decided to have another go, made my first
layout and Deep coded it all; FFW was back! Only this time, I was the
Webmistress! After uploading my old FFVII content, the site was officially
online on the 25th June 2005.
Deep also made a website around the same time called Kingdom
Hearts Extreme.
I'm pretty devoted to my site now, and there's still a lot of work to
be done to make it one of the best FF resources, so I always have something
to do.
Well that's all for me, enjoy my site!!! ^.^

Biography - Well, I first decided to make KHE when I noticed that
other KH sites didn't give that extra tiny bit of information that they
could of done. So I thought I'd do it for them. I've been making Graphics
and Websites for 4 years now. I use Photoshop to make all my GFX, but
if PS is unavailable then I use Paint Shop Pro 6/7/8. I have made 4 Websites
alltogether, my first was all about me, HP, KH, FF and LotR. My second
one was Final Fantasy World, which I soon gave over to my sister, FFFreak.
My 3rd was Beyblade Realm, which got 1000+ hits a day and was pretty popular.
And then there's my current one, Kingdom Hearts Extreme.

I'm playing KH2 on proud mode, and I see now why people say it's brutal!
I haven't really played FFVIII or FFIX yet, but I'll try to start them
soon! I'm working my second time through FFVII and I'm at the end right
now. I'm trying to get every last card in KH: CoM and I've got ten more

gets shot at by Weapon. Lovely scene.. no honest!
Biography - I've been playing video games since I was very young.
My mom tells stories of me standing infront of the TV in a diaper, and
playing Duck Hunt. Yeah Duck Hunt... The first RPG I had ever played was
Zelda: LTTP for the SNES, and then I started to move up onto more advanced
RPGs, like CT, and other such games like that. I had played my first FF
with number 7, at about.. 12 years old. I remember buying it from Walmart,
getting it home, opening the CD case.. and what did I find? A crack down
the center of the first disk!!
Well, needless to say, I took it back, and got myself a nice new shiney
one. It was great to play that game. It was like nothing I had ever seen
before.
With all the gorgeous backgrounds, and amazing monsters. It was the first
realistic FF that had come out, and deserved bragging rights. I've been
hooked ever since!

Skills - Locating and posting the latest news.
Biography - My very first console was the Atari. The games used
to come in cartridges and my very first one was Space Invaders. A classic
game that's still in the arcades to this day. But the most enjoyable console
I had owned has to be the SNES. Playing all those Mario games made me
what I am today. A game freak or in other words, a hardcore gamer. I now
own every console out there except the DS. Not much of a handheld fan.
But a big fan of the Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Kingdom Hearts,
Zelda & Grand Theft Auto series. I didn't start working at sites till
last year when I joined KHE as a KHII journalist. But I've been credited
at various KH sites. Too many to name to tell you the truth. So that's
why I just thought I'd become a journalist instead of handing the information
out. I can go on about myself all day but I'll just tell you one more
thing...
My favourite quote: "So gimme a stage where this bull here can rage

Biography - I was the once highly enthusiastic webmaster of FFCraft-Roleplaying,
that was until I realized I didn't have the knowlage of the newer FF games
to make a whole site out of it. You see, I'm one of those old school FF
players; accidently bought FFI for the NES because they labeled the game
as Mario, but I loved it none the less.
I live in Wales, USA; and I have been for my whole life. I wish to travel

Favourite Website - apart from this one...askaninja.com..no doubt.:)
Favourite Square-Enix Game - FF-X and FF-X-2. The story was of
epic proportion and it took gaming to a new level for me.
Favourite Square-Enix Game FMV/Scene - Oh, that's an easy one!
"The Spring" in FF-X. It made me so happy to see Tidus and Yuna
finally together.
Hobbies - I'm trying out for the Color Guard at my school and that
would be huge for me. I love to read and write ..mainly fantasy fiction.
My friends are the best! Blake, Caleb, J.K and Kristen keep me on track
even when I didn't know I got off of it.
Biography - Well, Final Fantasy X was the first game I had ever
played. From the very beginning I knew that it was the only thing I would
ever really play. It had meaning, and that in itself is what made the
game what it is today....plus the best gameplay the world has ever seen!
I have two younger siblings and two older. This basically puts me in the
middle but I've never had a problem with that. My dad is my inspiration
for everything. He works so hard and has always been there for me. He's
my hero in every way. I'm fairly new to online journalism, but I'm sure
that I'll love it. Oh! Just a random fact, but my friends and I are actually
making a FINAL FANTASY movie. Just something over the summer that will
make the best memories of all time. Well, that's me!

Biography - I have been writing since I was about 5 years old.
Focusing mainly on songs and poetry until I was about 13, when I tried
my hand at short stories. It was, however, at the age of 10, that I discovered
Final Fantasy 7. From that moment on when I'd go to buy a video game my
parents would say "How about Crash Bandicoot...or Silent Hill?"
and I'd say "Wheres Final Fantasy". I have played all the games
past 7 excpet for 11, and have dabbled with 1, 4, and 6. I have also played
Dirge of Ceberus and X-2 (the latter of which I'm route to beating right
now). My love of the series (and of Kingdom Hearts which I have beaten
1 once and KH2 twice) led me here to work with the best possible outcome.

Skills - Oh. Oh. Writing. I'm constantly writing little dribs and
drabs of stories. And I sew, too!
Favorite website - Wikipedia, without a doubt.
Favorite Square-Enix game - Final Fantasy Chronicles, VII, IX,
Parasite Eve, and Kingdom Hearts
Favourite Square-Enix FMV/Scene - THAT scene at the end
of the first disc in Final Fantasy VII, (I do love Aerith, though!) Opening
scene - FF XII, Trance Kuja - FF IX, Carnegie Hall scene - Parasite Eve,
and the endings of Final Fantasy X and Kingdom Hearts 2.
Hobbies - Cosplaying, (I'm working on a Jenova cosplay right now!
Imagine that!) sewing, writing, drawing, gaming, and just being an all-out
nerd.
Biography - As a wee girl, I was raised on two things: Sailor Moon
and an SNES. The first game I remember completing was Final Fantasy: Mystic
Quest when I was 4 or 5. True, I had no clue what the dialogue read and,
true, I referred to the battle commands as their first letter, but I loved
it. For the next few years, nothing exciting happened and my interest
in videogames diminished slowly until 2001 when I was munching on old
Halloween candy and saw a commercial for Kingdom Hearts. I was interested
and ended up renting it. That, ladies and gentlemen, was what re-introduced
me into the wonderful world of gaming.
Anyway, there was one character that influenced me to browse further into
Square's games. Cloud. When I first saw him, my original thought was Well,
he's hot. That thought was the only reason I bought Final Fantasy
VII. From that, I got more and more games. In fact, I just reached 10
Final Fantasy games (Two of them being collections) alone last year.
Of course, I like other games. My favorite game hands down is Shadow of
The Colossus, one of the most meaningful and beautiful games ever that's
just gorgeous in all aspects. Ico is right behind Shadow of The Colossus,
too. Another amazing game and, hey! Its Shadow's sequel! But, no matter
how many games come along, my heart will always belong to Square!

Biography - The first Final Fantasy I ever played was FFIV on
the SNES way back 1991 when I was 2. Then from there my love for Final
Fantasy had grew stronger especially towards FFVII which is definitely
one of the best games ever released. From IV I have bought every FF game
released by Square including other Square-Enix titles such as Kingdom
