Gun Mage Dressphere |
Description |
The Gun Mage Dressphere uses
a magical gun to use an enemy's strength against them. A Gun Mage
can learn 'Fiend Hunter' skills to deal four times as much damage
to certain enemies, it will still damage other enemies, but not as
effectively.
When battling difficult enemies like Helms which have high defense,
a Gun Mage can use her 'Shell Cracker' ability do deal quadruple damage,
however there is a long wait time for Fiend Hunter skills.
Gun Mages also have 'Blue Bullet' magic, which is learnt from
enemies by having an enemy perform a particular attack on your Gun
Mage, however, the Gun Mage must not be already KO'd and must survive
the attack, no matter how brutal. A list of Blue Bullet magic and
which enemies to learn them from is listed below.
Gun Mages have poor statistics, but they definitely make up
for it with their unique Fiend Hunter abilities which make eliminating
enemies a whole lot easier; their Blue Bullet magic which is fairly
easy to learn and can really drain enem's HP and/or MP; their 'Scan'
ability which allows you to view enemies stats, strengths and weaknesses;
and theire overall ability to defeat almost any enemy that stands
in her path. You can really benefit from leveling up a character
with a Gun Mage Dressphere, you just need to use it to it's full potential. |
Location |
During Chapter 1, go to the
Moonflow and complete the 'Shave the Hypello?' mission by protecting
his wagon from many Bandits. When you reach the Moonflow, your party
will speak to Tobli and he will reward you for your hard work. He
will hand over the Gun Mage Dressphere along with a Circlet Accessory
and the Helios Guard Garment Grid. If you miss your first opportunity
to get the Gun Mage Dressphere, you can return to the Moonflow during
Chapter 2, and Tobli will give it to you after you have completed
his ticket mission in which you must sell tickets to everyone on both
banks of the Moonflow who is prepared to buy one. Selling six tickets
is the minimum to obtain the Gun Mage Dressphere. More information
on these missions can be found in our walkthrough. |

Introduction to Blue Bullet Abilities
Blue Bullet skills are a unique feature of the Gun Mage Dressphere. They
are learnt from several different enemies when they use a particular attack
against a character who is wearing the Gun Mage Dressphere.
When a Blue Bullet ability is used against a character who is wearing a
Gun Mage Dressphere, she will automatically learn that specific ability.
That character does not need to survive the attack to learn it, however
one of your other party members must survive it so as not to get a Game
Over and lose all your progress.
Please note that abilities cannot be learnt by one character casting a skill
upon another party member wearing a Gun Mage Dressphere.
When a character has learnt a new ability, it will from then on be available
to use in a battle.
These abilities range from healing your party, inflicting status ailments
an enemy, or completely annihilating them with a Supernova.
They also cost varying amounts of MP, so watch out incase you drain all
of your valuable magic! Also, certain skills can only be learnt if you 'confuse'
the enemy so that they use, for instance, 'White Wind' on your party. And
sometimes an ability cannot be learnt if an enemy is or isn't Oversouled.
Below is a list of all Blue Bullet abilities, how much MP they cost and
which enemies you can learn them from.
