HP: An enemy's Hit Points
EXP: How much experience you receive for defeating the enemy.
STR: An enemy's Strength
DEF: An enemy's Defense.
These are an enemy's statistics and can vary depending on the Battle Level
of the world it is located in. For example, a lower Battle Level means
lower strength, while a higher Battle Level means higher strength.
The Battle Level of a world is basically Sora's recommended level, so
if a world's Battle Level is 32, then ideally, Sora should be Level 32
or higher. The Battle Level of worlds can change after certain events.
Reaction Commands
These can be used at specific points in a battle and unleash powerful
attacks or other helpful actions.
There are usually different reaction commands for each enemy, although
some don't have any, and they all require specific timing. When a command
above "Attack" in the commands menu appears, or a green triangle
can be seen on screen, press
to initiate the command, it doesn't matter how many times you press it,
or if you press it before the command is available, in fact, it's better
to tap
continuously so that you can be sure to activate the reaction command.
The strength, timing and reaction of these commands will be demonstrated
for each enemy.
Also, some reaction commands have 'follow-ups' which means there are two
seperate times you need to press
to perform two consecutive attacks. For example, the first reaction command
may be to jump over an enemy, while the second may be to unleash an attack.
Note: The strength of reaction commands is important; 100% strength will
mean that the attack does normal damage; 200% strength means it does twice
as much damage as normal attacks; while 0% strength means it does no damage
or the enemy is immune.
Attack
Some enemies are immune to certain types of attacks, while other may be
weak to them. Types of attacks are displayed by different coloured "keyblades"
here, so check the key at the start of this page to see what means what.
When an enemy is immune to an attack, it will show as 0%; if it is strong
against an attack, it will show as 1-99%; if the attack does normal damage
it will show as 100%; and if the enemy is weak to an attack it will show
as 101% and over.
The type of attacks an enemy will deploy will also be displayed, so check
what kind they are to properly prepare before you face it. For example,
if an enemy uses fire-based attacks []
then equip Armor that guards against fire elemental.
Items
Occasionally, defeated enemies may drop items or orbs. Each enemy drops
different types of items and orbs and also has a different "chance"
rate, which is basically how often a defeated enemy drops a certain item.
For each enemy here, you will be able to see what items and orbs they
drop and what your chances are of that happening. This comes in very useful
when looking for Synthesis Materials for Synthesizing weapons, items or
armor and accessories.
To increase your chances of finding rare items, use the Lucky Lucky
ability (or equip the Wishing Lamp keyblade). You'll probably also
find that equipping the Draw ability allows you to collect the items and
orbs more quickly.
Battle Levels and Locations
Each enemy will be located in certain worlds, sometimes more than one,
but sometimes a world is listed more than once for an enemy. This is because
of Battle Levels. The Battle Level of a world is basically Sora's recommended
level, so if a world's Battle Level is 32, then ideally, Sora should be
Level 32 or higher. Therefore, the enemy's stats can vary depending on
the Battle Level of the world it is located in. For example, a lower Battle
Level means lower strength, while a higher Battle Level means higher strength.
This means that another row of stats for an enemy must be added for a
different Battle Level, even if it's at the same world.
The Battle Level of worlds can change after certain events, such as the
Battle Level of Twilight Town increasing for each day during Roxas's story
at the beginning.
And finally, after a Battle Level change, different enemies may appear
in that world, so it's a good idea to return to them to level up against
the new and stronger Heartless or Nobodies.

A metal Nobody covered
in spikes. Spends most of it's time below ground where it cannot
be attacked, (though you can usually see it's spikes above the
ground so you know where it is) allowing it to creep up on you
when you least expect. |
As Assassins are nearly
always below ground where they are invincible, lock on and wait
for it to emerge. When it does, execute some Keyblade attacks,
while making sure not to get it by it's prehensile "arms"
that are covered in spikes.
Stay fairly close so that if it tries to self-destruct you can
quickly deploy the "Fail-Safe" reaction command. Just
don't get hit by the explosion-- it causes major damage to your
HP! |

Strategy |
A large Heartless with
the appearance of a "centuar". It wields a large spear
that has an extended range of attack. Sometimes uses fire-based
attacks. |
Assualt Riders are certainly
a formidable enemy the first time you face them, their weapons
have a huge range, which is difficult to dodge, and a variety
of attacks. There aren't any handy reaction commands either.
So equip armor or accessories that protect from the fire elemental.
this should take the edge off some of it's attacks, and equip
a powerful Keyblade as it has a generous amount of HP.
Use Keyblade combos and various dodging tactics, such as High
Jump, Glide or Aerial Dodge. You'll find that Aerial Recovery
is very useful, as most of the Assualt Rider's attacks knock
you into the air, so use this ability to quickly leap back into
the action. |
